Our City

Littleton, Colorado, located just 20 miles southwest of the Denver city limits, was incorporated in 1890 as merchants and farmers settled in following the gold seekers of the Pike’s Peak Gold Rush. Today the city covers about 14 square miles with a population of about 41,000 and boosts over 300 days or so of warm sunshine each year.

Visit historic downtown Littleton, with great gift shops, antique shops, fashion boutiques and restaurants. Enjoy a night out with live theater at the Town Hall Arts Center or seek out live music at a local tavern. During the summer, there’s a Farmer’s market every Saturday.

Littleton is also home of two of the best State Parks in the Denver area, Chatfield and Roxborough. Chatfield has 12 miles of biking and hiking trails around Chatfield Reservoir, a haven for boaters and water skiers. Roxborough’s 3,339 acres has incredible red rock geologic formation and is home to wildlife.

Close to Littleton is Red Rocks Amphitheatre, with a schedule of concerts under the stars May through September, but open year-round. One of Colorado’s Tourist Welcome Center is housed at Red Rocks as well as a hall of fame of the musicians who’ve played there (the Beatles played in 1964). Be sure to catch the view from the observation deck, take a hike through the stunning red rock formation or just soak in the great view of the Denver skyline.

For drag racing fans, the NHRA’s Bandimere Speedway, nicknamed “Thunder Mountain”, is home to a full schedule of racing events on its quarter-mile drag strip just minutes away.

Our city of Littleton and the entire surrounding southwest Denver region are the ideal locations for a relaxing fun weekend trip or “staycation”.
